Thousands Without Power in Salem, Expected Back This A.M.
A portion of Salem was without power on Wednesday morning,, including downtown Salem, Bridge Street Neck and Salem Willows.

There were about 2,500 homes and businesses without power on Wednesday morning in Salem.
The outage occurred just after 10 a.m. The cause of the outage was not immediately known.
The affected area included Bridge Street Neck, Collins Cove and Salem Willows, running down Essex Street past Salem Common and through the heart of downtown. The outage affected about 12 percent of the electric customers in Salem.

National Grid said power would be back by 11 a.m. but at 10:25 a.m. a crew had not yet been assigned to the repair job.
