63-Year-Old New Bedford Woman Killed In Dartmouth Crash
The driver, a 25-year-old woman from New Bedford remains in critical condition after Sunday night's crash.
DARTMOUTH, MA — A woman was killed while another remains in critical condition after a Jeep crashed into a tree on Rte. 195 in Dartmouth Sunday night.
Eleanor Estrella, 63, of New Bedford, was found dead at the scene as the passenger of a rented Jeep Cherokee.
Massachusetts State Troopers responded to the area just after 10 p.m. Sunday night to find a single-car crash in the middle of the median on Rte. 195.

Investigators say the Jeep was westbound when it veered off the road, entered the median, and struck a tree, killing Estrella.
The two surviving passengers were taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where the driver, a 25-year-old woman from New Bedford suffered what State Troopers called life-threatening injuries.

As of Monday morning, she remained in critical condition, police say.
Massachusetts State Police say the other passenger, a 17-year-old girl from New Bedford, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no further information was immediately available.
