Body Pulled From River In Somerset After Missing Boater Search
The missing man's body was found in the Taunton River after officials say he took a boat out Friday night and never returned.
SOMERSET, MA — A body was found and recovered from the Taunton River in Somerset on Sunday, a day after a search began for a man who went boating Friday night and never returned.
Somerset Chief Jamison Barros said a man had taken a dinghy from Somerset Yacht Club onto the river by Gay Street on Friday night around 5 p.m. but never returned.
Somerset Fire later received information that the man's car was still parked in the Club lot on Saturday morning.

A search began Saturday morning, calling in an extensive task force including the Somerset Police Department, Somerset Harbor Master, the Somerset Police, and Fire Drone Teams, Tiverton, R.I., Marine Unit, and more.
On Sunday, Barros confirmed a man's body was recovered in the river around 11 a.m. off of Pratt Avenue, a few streets over from Gay Street.

Police have not released the man's name and no further information was made immediately available.
