Deadly DUI Crash Driver Who Skipped Court Found In Seekonk Motel

After skipping his arraignment for a DUI that left a woman dead, Keith Brown was found inside a motel, living under a fake name for weeks.

SEEKONK, MA — A man accused of skipping his arraignment on charges in a fatal DUI crash in Rhode Island was arrested in Seekonk Massachusetts, police said Wednesday.

Keith Brown, 34, of Fall River, will be held without bail after he was charged with driving under the influence with death resulting, driving to endanger, and other counts related to an accident on Oct. 31, 2021.

Brown was arrested Wednesday morning and was scheduled for another arraignment in the afternoon.

Police say Brown failed to show up for his original arraignment on Dec. 3 and was subsequently put on Rhode Island's most wanted list.

Unnamed sources ultimately led investigators to the Quality Inn on Route 6 in Seekonk, where Brown was staying for several weeks under a fake name, police said.

On Oct. 31, police said Brown was driving a car that crashed head-on into a Jeep Cherokee on Route 138, killing an 88-year-old woman from Westerly and injuring her daughter, who was driving.

A witness told investigators Brown's car crossed over the centerline, swerving into the Jeep head-on. A toxicology report from the Rhode Island Department of Health found fentanyl and methadone in Brown's system.

Brown is due in Fall River District Court on Feb. 14.
