Homicide Police Investigate Fatal New Bedford Shooting

NEW BEDFORD, MA — Police have launched an investigation after a man was shot to death in New Bedford Monday night.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 117 Hillman St. just after 6 p.m. to find a man suffering from a single gunshot wound on the porch of the house, the Bristol District Attorney's Office said.

The man, later identified as Eric Jose Carlos, 35, of New Bedford, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and did not survive his injuries, the district attorney's office said.

So far no arrests have been made, but homicide police say an investigation remains ongoing.
