SHREWSBURY, MA — The autumnal equinox on Monday, Sept. 22, signals the official arrival of fall, but the season is already in full swing in the Bay State with events like corn mazes, hay rides, fall festivals and harvest events.

Shrewsbury Police Department Community Appreciation Day is on Sept. 20 from noon to 3 p.m. in front of the police department and town hall at 106 Maple Ave.

Ensemble Chaconne Opens 40th Season with Baroque Masterpieces on Sept. 21 ar 9 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd.

Nick's Halloween 5K Fun Run is on Oct. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Shrewsbury High School's track, located at 75 Cypress Ave.
