71-Year-Old Shrewsbury Man Dies In New York Crash: Police

SHREWSBURY, MA— A Shrewsbury man was killed following a two-car crash on I-84 in Montgomery, New York, on Tuesday, Oct 21.

Kevin Cantwell, 71, died after his van struck the rear of a Freightliner tractor-trailer on the highway, according to a news release from New York State Police. The man driving the tractor-trailer, who is also from Massachusetts, was a 47-year-old from Springfield and was not injured.

Cantwell was taken from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing, according to police.
