AR-15-Style Rifle Caught At Lake Quinsigamond: Report

SHREWSBURY, MA — A gun was caught in a Shrewsbury lake this week.

A person who was magnet fishing at Lake Quinsigamond retrieved an AR-15-style rifle on Monday, according to a report in Telegram and Gazette. Magnet fishing is a hobby of attaching a powerful magnet to a rope to retrieve lost metal objects.

The person contacted the police shortly before noon, according to the report.

"The incident remains under investigation and I cannot provide any further details at this time," Shrewsbury Police Lt. Nicholas Perna told the Telegram and Gazette.
