SHREWSBURY, MA — Back-to-school planning is well underway in Shrewsbury with students set to return to local public schools and St. John's in just a few weeks.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• First day, grades 1 to 12: Aug. 29
• Kindergarten, preschool first day: Aug. 30
• Labor Day, Sept. 4
• Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day: Oct. 9
• Veterans Day: Nov. 10
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22 to 24
• Christmas Break: Dec. 25 to Jan. 1
• MLK Day: Jan. 15
• February Break: Feb. 19 to 23
• April Vacation: April 15 to 19
• Memorial Day: May 27
