With 32 New COVID Cases, Board Of Health Encourages Wearing Masks

Masks are required in municipal buildings and are strongly recommended for everyone when indoors

SHREWSBURY — The Board of Health is strongly encouraging everyone to wear a mask when indoors at all public spaces in the town of Shrewsbury.

Thirty-two additional positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Shrewsbury since Aug. 13, bringing the cumulative total to 3,087.

Employees and visitors in all municipal buildings are already required to wear a face mask.

This was an agenda item at the Aug. 20 meeting, according to a board of health statement released Friday.

Residents can book an appointment at mass.gov/COVIDVaccine or dial Mass 2-1-1 for assistance. Residents age 60+ may call the Shrewsbury Senior Center at 508-841-8640 or Mass 2-1-1 for assistance. All residents 12+ who live, work, or study in Massachusetts can now be vaccinated. People ages 12-17 can only get the Pfizer vaccine. People age 18 and older can get any vaccine.
