Ceremony Will Officially Open New Shrewsbury Police Station
Local and state officials will dedicate the new $42 million police station that's been in use for months.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury's new $42 million police station has been in use for months, but it'll officially open on Tuesday morning.
Local officials will gather at the 106 Maple St. building starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday for a dedication ceremony. Speakers will include state Rep. Hannah Kane, R-Shrewsbury, state Sen. Michael Moore, D-Worcester, former lieutenant governor Karyn Polito, Shrewsbury Select Board Chair Beth Casavant, Town Manager Kevin Mizikar and police Chief Kevin Anderson.
Members of the police station building committee, and leaders from the architecture and construction firms that built the station will also be at the ceremony.

The town broke ground on the building in September 2021. The building, about double the size of the 1971 station the department previously used, was funded by a debt exclusion approved by voters in 2020.
Shrewsbury police began moving into the new building early in 2023, and have been moved in since Feb. 24.
