Chamber Awards 22 Mini Education Grants

The Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce has awarded 22 mini-grants for projects in Kindergarten to grade 12, totaling $7,866.79.

The mini-grants were presented during the chamber's membership breakfast last Thursday, chamber officials said in a press release.

Receiving grants were:

• Fales Elementary School Reading Specialists Kate Finn and Beth Ramos: "A Community of Readers."

• Peaslee Elementary School fifth-grade teachers Lisa Miranda and Andrea Daunais: "Engaging Scientific Inquiry Through Technology With Elementary Students."
• Peaslee Librarian Nancy Kellner: "Find Your Voice: Using VoiceThread to Motivate and Engage Young Learners."
• Proctor Elementary School Library teacher Joanne Giancola and Reading Specialist Sylvia Pabreza: "An Author Study of Jacqueline Davies."
