Expect Delays Along Shrewsbury's Oak Street With New Water Main Work
Drivers should avoid a portion of Oak Street this week as a large water main replacement project advances north of Route 9.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Drivers in Shrewsbury Street should plan to avoid Oak Street north of Route 9 for the time being.
A contractor working for the town on Monday began the next phase of a water main replacement. The work will affect the portion of Oak Street between Maple Avenue and the water town just south of Shrewsbury Montessori School.
Construction will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. into the summer months.

"During the project, traffic near the work area will be limited to one lane with an alternating traffic pattern. Police details will be present, however, we encourage all motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists to avoid the areas," the town advised this week.
The water main project earlier this spring closed portions of Oak Street south of Route 9 and Fruit Street.
