Toilet Cleaner Causes Chemical 'Plume'

This afternoon the Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to the Shrewsbury Green Apartments for a Hazmat response.

According to scanner reports bleach was mixed with another toilet cleaner causing a hazardous mix of chemicals.

The mix created a plume filling the apartment. Two occupants were in the apartment at the time, including a 2-year-old.

Scanner reports said neither person was showing respiratory issues after the incident.
