The road will be closed for five days beginning on Aug. 1, according to the town.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A main road north of the Shrewsbury town center will close for five days for a sewer main replacement.

Starting Monday, Prospect Street will close between Spring and Holman streets — a stretch that runs almost the entire length of the east side of Prospect Park — for at least five days. A contractor working for the town will be replacing a sewer main near 108 Prospect St.

The road closure will last each weekday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The work will conclude by Friday if weather cooperates, according to the town. Water service will remain in place during the work.
