Missing Shrewsbury Man Found Safe
David Lajoie, 69, had been missing since Saturday afternoon when he went for a walk.
SHREWSBURY, MA—A missing Shrewsbury man missing since Saturday afternoon has been found safe, police said. David Lajoie, 69, lives at #2A Althea Path in Shrewsbury, which is located alongside Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury.
Police report that he went for a walk around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon and was not heard from since. He goes for walks on a regular basis but it is out of the ordinary that he has not returned, said police.
There was a confirmed sighting of Lajoie on Saturday around 7 p.m. on Franklin Street in Worcester, still on foot.

Police searched the area near his home on foot and also with Shrewsbury Police K-9 Officer Chad Chysna and his partner “Hunter." The Lake Quinsigamond shoreline in Shrewsbury was also searched by the Shrewsbury Police Boat patrol, said police. Also assisting was the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, which used its helicopter to search.
Lajoie is described as a white male, 69 years of age, 5’11”, 170-180 lbs, bald with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown “Carhartt” baseball hat, an orange flannel shirt with a black vest, and also dark blue jeans and hiking boots. Lajoie is also suffering from early stages of dementia.
