At least one person was transported to the hospital following a messy multi-vehicle crash this afternoon on Route 140 Grafton.
The crash forced police to detour drivers down side streets, causing serious back-ups.

A dump truck carrying asphalt was overturned in the crash. Three other vehicles were apparently involved.
Crews were on the scene shoveling asphalt from the truck in an effort to clear the road.

The truck carried the name of Riley Brothers Utility Contractors.
One car, with a deflated airbag, rested on a nearby lawn, its back wheel off the ground.
The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. near the Shrewsbury town line.
The police and fire chiefs remain on the scene and few details are available yet.
The road was littered with glass and portions of the vehicles.
The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating.
