Road Closed In Shrewsbury: Oak Street Water Project Moves To New Section

SHREWSBURY, MA — The closure of Oak Street will continue this week through Friday, but will move to a new section of the road south of Route 9.

Until Friday, Oak Street will be closed to through traffic from Route 9 south to Howe Avenue. That's just a slightly shorter closure compared to last week, when the construction zone extended slightly farther south to Redland Street.

The work this week is part of a larger project to replace the water main under Oak Street, so construction will continue through the spring and summer months, according to the town.

Local traffic will be allowed through the construction zone, but all other traffic will be detoured around the work. See a full map of the detour routes here.
