Police Log: Stolen Christmas Decorations, Fight at Burger King

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Dec. 18

12:31 p.m.: An officer spoke with a tractor-trailer driver about parking in travel lanes during deliveries.

2:51 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious man near 188 Boston Turnpike. Officers were unable to locate the man who was described as being in his 50’s with a gray beard, a winter hat and a red sox sweatshirt.

3:45 p.m.: Officers responded to a fight at Burger King. The suspect fled on Route 9 westbound and the victim was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

4:15 p.m.: Officers responded to a two-car crash near 866 Hartford Turnpike. One vehicle was towed and the occupants refused medical treatment.

6:34 p.m.: A caller from Saturn Drive reported stolen Christmas decorations.

10:34 p.m.: Brenda Yanis, 22, was arrested at CVS. The homeless woman was charged with two counts of shoplifting and two counts of possession of a class E substance.
