Police Log: Wrong Way Driver, Assault Arrests

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 28

12:08 a.m.: A caller reported that their car was stolen from Yorkshire Terrace around 8 p.m. the previous night. The caller said they would be to the station to file a report in the morning.

2:24 a.m.: A person advised the Shrewsbury Police Department of a loud party in the Commons Drive area. An officer responded and spoke to residents who said they would quiet down for the night.

3:05 a.m.: A caller reported tires screeching and a crash on Hartford Turnpike. One vehicle was towed.

6:41 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious red SUV on Hunting Avenue. An officer responded and spoke to the person.

7:10 a.m.: A caller reported a red Blazer that continually drives through red lights when a bus is stopped on Flagg Road. The caller gave an officer the license plate information.

7:39 a.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash on South Street. No injuries were reported but both vehicles were towed.

8:39 a.m.: An officer took a report of a crash on Boston Turnpike. No injuries were reported.

10:56 a.m.: A person reported a past motor vehicle crash on Pineland Avenue. An officer advised the resident to contact their insurance company.

2:24 p.m.: An officer sent for a tow at the owners request after their vehicle ran out of gas on the ramp for I-290.

2:39 p.m.: A resident went in to the station to report an assault.

3:08 p.m.: A caller reported a domestic assault in progress. Officers responded and arrested Daniel Lucey, 17, of 15 Ashwood Cir. Lucey was charged with assault and battery.

3:54 p.m.: A caller reported a crash on Boylston Street. No injuries were reported.

4:46 p.m.: A caller reported a crash on Boston Turnpike. No injuries were reported.

6:27 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of a mail truck parked in Holman Street. The vehicle was unoccupied.

7:15 p.m.: An officer took a report of a crash on Grafton Street. No injuries were reported.

8:03 p.m.: An anonymous caller reported a physical altercation in the road on Hancock Street between two males. Officers responded and transported one person home.

11:20 p.m.: An officer observed a vehicle going the wrong way on Route 9. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested Randel Anderson, 42, of 126 Paris Ave., Worcester. Anderson was charged with drunken-driving, negligent operation, marked lanes violation and one-way street violation.

Saturday, Sept. 29

2:25 a.m.: A caller reported loud music in an apartment on Shrewsbury Green Drive. An officer spoke to the resident and told them to quiet down.

4:14 a.m.: A caller reported that his daughter was assaulting his wife on Wesleyan Street. Tiffany Colley, 28, of 33 Wesleyan St. was arrested. She was charged with assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

9:15 a.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash on Old Faith Road. One vehicle hit a parked vehicle; no injuries were reported.

12:11 p.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash on Walnut Street. No injuries were reported.

2:53 p.m.: A caller reported a car vs. motorcycle crash on Main Street. Medical transport was refused.

5:17 p.m.: Officers were advised to be on the lookout for a man from Clinton that had indicated intent to harm himself.

6:44 p.m.: A person went in to the station to speak with an officer regarding an incident at the High School. More people went to the station to speak about the same incident throughout the evening.

11:55 p.m.: An officer found two bikes on Main Street with no one around. The officer brought them in to the station for storage.

Sunday, Sept. 30

12:45 a.m.: A caller reported a dispute going on near Shady Lane. An officer responded and observed a person having an argument on their phone. They were moved along.

1:14 a.m.: An officer checked a suspicious vehicle parked at 512 A Boston Turnpike.

2:19 a.m.: An anonymous caller reported a loud party on Fairlawn Circle. An officer responded and the partygoers were cooperative.

3:02 a.m.: A caller reported that a vehicle crashed into his mailbox on Avon Avenue.

9:18 a.m.: An officer assisted on Colonial Way while a male retrieved his personal items.

12:01 p.m.: An officer took a report of a two-car crash on Main Street. No injuries were reported.

2:08 p.m.: An officer moved a chair out of the roadway on Boston Turnpike.

4:27 p.m.: A person requested to turn in two firearms he found while cleaning out a house on Harriet Avenue. The guns turned out to be replicas.

4:39 p.m.: A caller reported that they were being harassed on Elm Street.

7:04 p.m.: A caller reported that a group had formed on Florence Street and that they were speeding in sports cars. Officers responded and spoke to the owners of several vehicles.

7:44 p.m.: Officers responded to a person at the Rainbow Motel who was bothering customers outside a ngihboring business. The male was advised not to return to the above location.
