Shrewsbury Features A COVID-19 Alternative To Dining Out

Food Truck Thursdays roll in every week through October in front of town hall.

SHREWSBURY — While the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted most restaurants, several Shrewsbury residents came to the rescue of hungry diners and ended up seeing their food truck businesses thrive.

In the spring of 2020, Teri Goulette and Jim Aulenback, both of Shrewsbury, approached the town's park & recreation department and the board of selectmen about offering Food Truck Thursdays as an option for outdoor dining.

Aulenback, who operates Shishkaberry's food truck, and Goulette, who operates Say Cheese, also join up with Sara Sirard of Shrewsbury with her truck Potato/Potato (pronounced "po TAY to"/"po totto").

"Teri and Jim wanted to do something in town because they live here," Sirard said.

Last year, patrons could pick up their food, but weren't allowed to eat on the grounds. This year, though, diners can sit on the green in from of town hall to enjoy their fresh delicacies while socializing.
