SHREWSBURY, MA — The Shrewsbury Police Department announced that it received $38,000 in grant funding for traffic and crosswalk enforcement.
The funding, through the FY26 Municipal Road Safety Grant Program, will be used to participate in six traffic and three crosswalk enforcement campaigns throughout the year, according to Shrewsbury police. The money is made available through the state's Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.
The first crosswalk campaign will begin this month, according to police. Officers assigned to the campaigns will be in addition to regular patrol officers, so that they can concentrate solely on the assignments.
