SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury police will be wearing a pink patch on their uniforms all month long to raise awareness about cancer.

The Shrewsbury Police Department highlighted one local organization that provides free information, called DetecTogether. The organization offers year-round educational resources for people to take important steps toward early cancer detection.

"Cancer can be devastating, and recognizing the early signs is critical," wrote the police department. "Our goal in wearing the patch is to spark conversations that may help someone notice the warning signs sooner."
