Shrewsbury Restaurants Take Part In Fight Against Cancer

The 19th annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer returns to two establishments in Shrewsbury.

SHREWSBURY, MA—Here's an easy way to treat your mom and also help fight breast cancer.

Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer takes place from May 7 through Mother’s Day, during which restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, cafés and ice cream shops throughout Massachusetts participate, including Amici Trattoria and Willy’s Steakhouse Grill & Sushi Bar in Shrewsbury.

Proceeds raised benefit the nonprofit breast cancer organization Bakes for Breast Cancer, and this year, the organization supports the research of Dr. Shom Goel at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Goel’s research focuses on focuses on combining immunotherapy and a promising new class of drugs called CDK4/6 inhibitors to more effectively treat breast cancer.

Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer was founded in 2000 by Carol Brownman Sneider in memory of her mother, Eva Brownman, who lost her battle with breast cancer, said the announcement. Since its inception the event has raised more than $1,000,000.
