Shrewsbury Voters Select Town Leaders, Senate Candidates
More than 40 percent of Shrewsbury voters cast ballots yesterday setting the stage for Markey, Gomez showdown in the Senate race to fill John Kerry's seat.
With a combined special senate primary and town election, Shrewsbury officials hoped to save voters from heading to the polls twice and cut down the cost of running two elections.
The result was that more than 40 percent of the town's voters made it out to the polls, although only half of the voters cast ballots in the senate primaries.
