'Why The Heck Is My Water Brown?' In Shrewsbury

Officials can't really explain it, either, but it's happening. So just run your lines.

SHREWSBURY, MA—Why the heck is the water coming out of the faucet brown!?

The town has recently received complaints of discolored water in the areas of Main Street, South Street and Julio Drive, along with other neighborhoods associated with that pressure zone.

"We have examined our system and can find no incident that should be causing this discoloration," stated officials. "We will continue to monitor the situation and apprise you of any change."

Any residents who may experience discolored water, run the water lines to clear out any sediment.

"Please note; we highly recommend that you do this from an outside faucet located as close as possible to your service entrance or water meter, or a cold water line such as a first-floor bathtub."
