1 Injured In July 4th Fire At Somerville Home

SOMERVILLE, MA — One firefighter was injured in a fire that broke out Monday evening at a home in Somerville, reported NBC 10 Boston.
Firefighters from Somerville and nearby departments, including Cambridge and Medford, responded to the home at 1241 Broadway Street.
One of Somerville’s firefighters suffered minor injuries, but everyone who was inside the home made it out safely on their own, Somerville Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Major told NBC 10. A cat was also rescued from the second floor.

Major said the flames quickly spread from the second floor up into the attic and damages to the home were extensive.
The fire remains under investigation and no further information has been released.
