Applications Open For Somerville Community Preservation Act Funding

SOMERVILLE, MA — Applications are now open for more that $1.6 million in Somerville Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds, with intent forms due by June 24.
Adopted in 2012, the CPA enables Somerville to fund improvements related to affordable housing, historic preservation, open space, and outdoor recreation.
The public is welcome to apply for funding as well as influence how the funds should be spent by organizations and city departments.

An annual application process is managed by the Community Preservation Committee for historic resources and open space/outdoor recreation projects. The Affordable Housing Trust Fund manages the annual process for affordable housing applications.
To date, the Somerville CPA program has supported 50 unique housing, historic, and open space/recreation projects or programs through awards of over $30 million. This includes $5 million in CPA matching funds from the state.
