Arrest Made In Fatal Somerville Stabbing

Shakeel Bodden, 28, will face a murder charge in connection with an attack on Munroe Street Thursday night, the district attorney said.

SOMERVILLE, MA — A Somerville man has been arrested and charged in a fatal stabbing on Munroe Street Thursday night.

Shakeel Bodden, 28, is accused of attacking another man with a knife inside a home. Officers arrived to find the victim, a 33-year-old Boston man, suffering from multiple stab wounds, the Middlesex District Attorney's office said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bodden was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the attack, the district attorney's office said. He is expected to be arraigned in Somerville District Court on a charge of murder.

Authorities say Bodden knew the victim, who is not being identified by name until his family is notified.
