Arrest Made In Somerville House Fire Incident

SOMERVILLE, MA — The police department announced it has made an arrest in connection to a multi-home fire that occurred earlier this month.

John Grasso, 35, was arrested Thursday on the charges of wanton destruction of property and breaking and entering a building at nighttime.

Firefighters responded to 75 Thurston St. at approximately 12 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 to find the vacant building on fire. The residents of two other homes evacuated after smelling smoke and noticing that the flames had spread to their homes. The fire department battled the blaze for five hours.

The department said the incident remains under investigation.
