Cambridge Savings Bank Opens New Branch At Assembly Row

SOMERVILLE, MA — Cambridge Savings Bank opened its newest branch at Somerville's Assembly Row on Tuesday, Aug. 17. The location is the bank's 18th branch.

The new location allows Cambridge Savings Bank to continue its philanthropic efforts and build on its existing presence in the Somerville market.

The bank serves more than 3,800 people, families and businesses in Somerville and has partnerships with several local nonprofits, donating more than $500,000 to organizations and providing over $135,000 in scholarships to Somerville High School seniors over the past decade.

Since 2011, the bank has provided financial education courses to more than 5,000 participants through partnerships with Somerville High School, the Argenziano School, Somerville Community Corporation, Somerville Homeless Coalition and Mystic Learning Center.

In addition to its community-focused efforts, the bank has been committed to sustainable practices, reducing its energy usage intensity by 35 percent and lowering its greenhouse gas emissions by 8 million pounds over the past 20 years.

The opening of the Somerville branch is the bank's second new location in the past 14 months, following its acquisition of Melrose Bank in June 2020.
