Five Things: Family Caregivers Series, 'Game of Thrones' in East Somerville

1) Effective Communication for Family Caregivers
This two-part series is for adult children of aging parents. It's hosted by the Somerville Council on Aging. The first meeting is tonight from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the next meeting is May 21 at the same time. It takes place at the Council on Aging offices, 167 Holland St.
2) "Game of Thrones" in East Somerville
East Somerville Main Streets is hosting weekly events on Tuesdays through July, and tonight's event is called "Game of Thrones." Noris Montiel of Shaddai Boutique will demonstrate decorating skills on thrones created for East Somerville's upcoming Carnaval. Afterward, people will gather for food and drink. Check it out from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 97 Broadway.
3) Redbones Honored
Robert Gregory and Caryn Whitney of Redbones were recently honored by the Somerville Homeless Coalition at the group's annual Under the Roof dinner. Over 11 years, Redbones has raised $65,000 for the Somerville Homeless Coalition, according to an announcement. Redbones also hosts the annual Pig Pickin' event, which benefits the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

4) High School Student Honored at Law Day
Somerville High School student Celia Conte was honored at a "Law Day" event held on Monday. Conte was one of 21 students across Middlesex County honored for community service and academic achievement, an announcement from the Middlesex Sheriff's office says. Congratulations.
