Five Things: Somervillians Will Paddle the Charles, Stress Study, Crayon Drive

1) Paddling the Charles
Somerville residents Bryan Ryingswald, Michelle Ruda, Sandy Parker, Nick Lauder, Laura Schneider and Mark Leonard will participate in the Charles River Watershed Association’s 31st Annual Run of the Charles Canoe and Kayak Race, according to an announcement from event organizers. They will paddle distances ranging from 6 to 24 miles to highlight the improved quality of the Charles River. The event takes place April 28, and others can register or learn more at www.charlesriver.org.

2) Male Patients Needed for Stress Study
A Suffolk University doctoral student is looking for men between the ages of 18 and 45 who have experienced stress, such as a divorce, unemployment or berevement, in the past two years to take an online survey. Participants could win a $5 gift card to Starbucks.

3) Annual Meeting of the Somerville High School Scholarship Foundation
The foundation holds its meeting at 7 p.m. at Somerville High School.

4) Coloring Book and Crayon Drive at Lincoln Tech
Bring unwrapped crayons and coloring books to Lincoln Technical Institute for donation to Boston Children's Hospital. The drive runs through March 28.
