Five Things: South Street Farm Ribbon-Cutting

1) Ribbon-Cutting at Groundwork Somerville's South Street Farm
The ribbon-cutting is at 9 a.m. at Groundwork Somerville's South Street Farm, at 100 South St. It will celebrate the completion of the Eco-Shed, built, according to the listing, "in a collaborative effort by Prospect Hill Academy students, the Green Team, and volunteers." It's part of the city's "Urban Agriculture Initiative to create more green space, growing space, and locally grown produce."

2) Salsa & Salsa at "It's Tuesday"
Salsa lessons and local food in East Somerville, starting at 6 p.m. at the East Branch Library on Broadway.

3) Somerville by Design
The Davis Square Somerville by Design "visioning session" is at 6:30 p.m. at First Church Somerville, 89 College Ave.

4) Somerville Resident Gets Grant
Somerville resident Sumit Bhattacharya, a research scientist at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Schepens Eye Research Institute, was recently awarded a $20,000 grant to research dry eye disease, according to an announcement sent by Massachusetts Eye and Ear. Congratulations.
