Five Things: Special Olympics, Gilman Street Bridge Meeting, Ward 5 Campaign News

Some things to know in Somerville today.

1) Special Olympics, and Somerville Rocks
Two cool school events are taking place today. First, the Special Olympics–Somerville School Day Games take place at Dilboy Stadium, starting at 9:30 a.m. and going until 1 p.m. Second, "Somerville Rocks," featuring tons of musical groups from the high school, starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Somerville High School atrium.

2) Gilman Street Bridge Meeting
This meeting will discuss the design of the Gilman Street Bridge. The meeting is at the Michael E. Capuano Early Childhood Center at 6:30 p.m. According to an email from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, "The proposal will replace the three-span structure with a single-span bridge that will have two sidewalks."

3) Caroline Rosas Campaign Kickoff
Rosas is running for School Committee in Ward 5, and she's holding a kickoff event tonight at 6 p.m. at the Dante Club.
