1) Committee to discuss styrofoam ban, buskers
The Somerville Board of Aldermen's Legislative Matters Committee meets tonight to discuss some weighty local issues. It will continue its discussion of a proposed ban on polystyrene takeout food containers in the city, and it will also discuss First Amendment rights as they pertain to street musicians and performers. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
2) Dinner and Dessert
According to the listing the following will be served up: "lush melodies for 'dinner' and foot stompin’ Dixieland jazz for 'dessert.'" It's at 8 p.m. at the Granoff Music Center at Tufts University.
3) Homework Help for Teens: English and History
Tufts University students from the Leonard Carmichael Society will offer help to teens in the subjects of history and English. It's from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Somerville Public Library.
