Francisco Mela's Cuban Safa, Slice of Hope

1) Francisco Mela's Cuban Safari
Jazz drummer Francisco Mela performs his latest project, Cuban Safari, an exploration of the music that inspired him, from Miles Davis to Weather Report. It's at 8 p.m. at Tufts University's Granoff Music Center, 20 Talbot Ave.
2) Slice of Hope
Get pizza from Eat at Jumbo's today, and the restaurant will donate 20 percent of all proceeds to the Karen Mullen Breast Cancer Foundation. It's part of the national Slice of Hope National Pizza Party Day.
3) Project Bread Donations
Project Bread, the organization behind the Walk for Hunger, recently donated $1.79 million to food programs across Massachusetts. Here in Somerville, the Somerville Homeless Coalition's Project SOUP received some of the funding, according to an email from Project Bread.
4) New Farm-to-Bottle Distillery Opens in Belmont
If you'd like to try some local hooch, Damnation Alley Distillery recently opened in Belmont. So far, they're selling some vodkas and whiskeys.
