Gov. Healey In Somerville To Tour Small Businesses
The East Somerville stop is one of three Gov. Maura Healey will make Thursday at small businesses across the state.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Governor Maura Healey will stop in East Somerville to promote the administration’s Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program.
Healey, along with Somerville Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, Economic Development Secretary Yvonne Hao, President and CEO of MA Growth Capital Corporation Larry Andrews, and local officials, will tour local, small businesses along Broadway, starting at Mudfat Pottery School before making their way to three restaurants — Rincon Mexicana, Gauchao Brazilian Cuisine, and Rei da Picanha — and finally ending their tour at East Somerville Main Streets, a non-profit community organization.
Healey is expected to tour the sites around 11:30 a.m., according to her office.

Existing small businesses in Somerville are still reeling from the pandemic, with Mayor Katjana Ballantyne setting up a Small Business Recovery Fund in 2022 for small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
Somerville will be Healey's second stop Thursday. After Somerville, Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll will head to a Haverhill Small Business Roundtable with local officials.
