By <a href="https://jamaicaplain.patch.com/users/bret-silverberg-2" rel="nofollow">Bret Silverberg</a> Interstate 93 southbound into Boston will be closed Tuesday night, with a detour through Somerville. Maintenance work on the roadway will require a complete shutdown of the southbound lanes beginning Tuesday at 11 p.m. and ending Wednesday at 5 a.m., according to the <a href="http://www.mass.gov/massdot" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Massachusetts Department of Transportation</a>. Southbound traffic will be detoured off the highway at Route 38/Mystic Avenue in Somerville and allowed to re-enter at the Albany Street on-ramp. Traffic destined for Interstate 90 westbound will access the highway via an on-ramp just south of Kneeland Street. Work will include wall washing, catch-basin clearing and additional maintenance activities. The closure is part of a twice-monthly series of overnight I-93 lane closures designed to allow for routine maintenance.

Southbound lanes will be closed to traffic overnight from Aug. 6 to 7 as crews conduct maintenance work.
