Large Tree Tumble Causes Damage In Somerville: Report

Multiple cars and power lines were damaged from the fall.

SOMERVILLE, MA — One driver was transported to the hospital after a large tree fell on multiple cars driving on Paulina Street Wednesday afternoon, according to a report from WCVB NewsCenter 5.

Rick Weir’s white Subaru had its hood crushed as he barely escaped from the car. He was checked out at the hospital with a sore neck and back. He expressed his belief that he could have died had the tree fallen on a different portion of his vehicle. In addition to damaging cars, the tree took out electrical and phone lines when it came down.

The neighborhood reportedly remains without power Eversource and Somerville Public Works crews work to repair the damage.
