Members Needed For Somerville Historic Preservation Commission
The HPC administers the Demolition Review Ordinance and the Historic District Ordinance.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The City of Somerville is seeings three full and six alternate members for the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC).
The HPC administers the Demolition Review Ordinance and the Historic District Ordinance. HPC members work directly with staff in the Planning, Preservation & Zoning Division (PPZ) who provide professional analysis, guidance, and training to the HPC and help coordinate and administer Commission meetings.
The HPC typically meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m. Members serve three-year terms in a volunteer capacity.

Applications will be reviewed by the Mayor’s Appointments Advisory Committee. New members must be approved by the City Council and there will be a candidate interview process.
