National Puppy Day: Dogs Looking for Homes Near Somerville

SOMERVILLE, MA - Happy National Puppy Day! What's a better way to celebrate the special day than bringing home a pup who needs a home?

Here are some dogs looking for homes from the Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury.

Brody: " I am a 7 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Chocolate Lab mix. I take after both breeds: I can be strong-willed and focused. I'm intelligent and very agile. True to my mix, I LOVE to play fetch and get fresh air. I was originally from down South and it's possible I used to have a "job" as a field dog."

Bramble: "I'm a 6-year-old male Lab mix. I am housebroken and crate-trained. Don't let my age fool you - I love to go on walks and runs. I have had some basic obedience training and I know several commands. My new home will need to be with dog-savvy adults only because I can get nervous in certain situations. I get along well with other dogs (I've been to doggy daycare) but I don't know how I feel about cats."

Monique: "I am a 1.5 year old female Dachshund mix . I am a smart, spunky dog rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico. I am shy around new people, but with time and patience I'll be your best friend!"

Gizmo: "I'm a 4-year-old male Chihuahua. I need to go to a home where the humans have lots of experience with smart & small dogs. I must go to an adult-only home. My new humans will need to be comfortable setting boundaries and providing me with structure, training, and exercise."
