Pet Palooza at Assembly Row this Weekend

Five things to know and do in Somerville today. "Dig into ... Seeds," "Philadelphia" and a photo exhibit are other things to know about.

1) Pet Palooza
Okay, I'm mentioning this today so you can put it on your calendar for this weekend. Assembly Row is hosting Pet Palooza. It will feature  Dock Dogs, a dog aquatics team, along with dog training exhibits, food trucks, children's activities, and vendors. Assembly Row is also giving away $8,000 to pet-related non-profits, and you can vote for your favorites on the event's Facebook page. Pet Palooza takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Assembly Row.

2) Summer Library Workshop Series: Dig into ... Seeds!
This is the final "Dig into" event in a summer-long series run by Groundwork Somerville. It takes place at 11 a.m. at the East Branch Library, 115 Broadway.

3) Philadelphia at SomerMovie Fest
Watch the movie "Philadelphia" outdoors at Powder House Park. It starts just after sunset.

4) David Barnes: Photography Exhibition Opening at Whats-Nü
Check out Barnes' photo collages, chat with the artist and have some refreshments. The opening is at 5 p.m. at Whats-Nü, 67 Holland St., in Davis Square.

5) Weather
Mostly sunny with a high around 82, but it will start to rain at night.
