Harvard Declared Safe After Bomb Threat Forces Evacuations
Bomb squad teams were called to the campus on Monday afternoon following an "unconfirmed" threat.

Police in Cambridge were called to Harvard University Monday morning after a reported bomb threat at numerous locations on the campus. The campus has since been deemed safe.
The university received an “unconfirmed” bomb threat via email on Monday morning that led to the evacuation of the Science Center, Sever, Emerson and Thayer Halls, according to the school.
Bomb squad teams and university police searched the campus for several hours, but did not uncover anything out of the ordinary.

“The safety and security of members of the Harvard community is always our top priority,” said Katie Lapp, Harvard University executive vice-president. “In the wake of recent tragic events in locations ranging from Paris to Beirut and beyond, we understand that this type of threat will cause great anxiety for many across our campuses. We will continue to be vigilant as we carry on Harvard’s mission of expanding and disseminating knowledge.”
The source of the threat has not yet been determined. Officials are still investigating the incident.
