Poll Workers ‘Urgently' Needed For Somerville’s Sept. 6 Primary
As a result of redistricting and reprecincting across the state, Somerville now has an additional eleven voting locations.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville is “urgently” in need of poll workers for the September 6 Primary Election, the city said.
As a result of redistricting and reprecincting across the state, Somerville now has an additional eleven voting locations for a new total of 32 precincts. This increase means the city requires a significant increase in poll workers.
Somerville officials said help is specifically needed for checking in voters and providing general assistance on election days.

"Please help us by performing a civic duty―and get paid by the City for doing it,” the city said in a news release.
Any registered Massachusetts voter can become a poll worker and positions are available at any of Somerville’s precincts. No experience is necessary.

A shift is from 6:30 a.m. until after the polls close at 8:00 p.m. Compensation is $200 per day and all poll workers receive a 2 hour break.
