R.F. O'Sullivan's Adds Son, Will Return To Somerville

A different version of the decades-old bar will open in the longtime R.F. O'Sullivan's space.

SOMERVILLE, MA — A different iteration of a popular Somerville watering hole will return to its old home on Beacon Street.

R.F. O'Sullivan & Son will be owned by the Greatest Boston Bar Company, as opposed to the Sullivan family, and managed by local stand-up comic Brianna Classen, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, which first reported the news.

The original R.F. Sullivan's closed last May after more than 30 years, with owner Richard Sullivan saying he received an offer on the property he "could not refuse." The business moved to Lynn and is now run by Sullivan's son, Richard Jr.
