Somerville Scam: Animal Control Warns Against Flyers Advertising Puppies For Sale
Flyers have been found on resident vehicles and in other places in the city recently.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The city’s Animal Control department is warning the community about a scam involving advertisements for free puppies.
Residents have recently discovered flyers stuck in the front windshield of their cars that advertise the alleged sale of Toy Poodle puppies. The advertisements state that the puppies are available for $1,000, eight weeks old, and registered with things like vaccinations and paperwork. A phone number is also present on the papers.
Somerville Animal Control insisted that there are no dogs being sold and the advertisements are a known scam to the department and that the flyers should be wholly ignored.
