Somerville-Based Business Intends to Usurp Craigslist

A Boston Business Journal story says RentalBeast could be the future of finding a new apartment on the quick.

According to Boston Business Journal, the Somerville-based RentalBeast website is expanding from advertising potential rentals in three cities, to nine cities, and plans to do so by 2016.

Pretty impressive expansion, eh?

The source says RentalBeast launched in 2013, and if all goes according to plan, it’ll have six to eight employees in each of its new cities once the new operations - in L.A., Houston, Miami, and Dallas, respectively - get rolling.

Ishay Grinberg told the source that the idea behind RentalBeast is providing a service similar to Craigslist rentals, but with substantially more security and legitimacy.

As virtually everyone has a Craigslist roommate horror story, doubtlessly, this is a concept that will appeal to people.
