Somerville-based Climate Tech Companies Get Their Projects Funded

The Greentown Labs companies were among the recipients of the state grant program.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Four Somerville-based organizations received funding from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center during its recent allocation of $3.6 million.

Anvil Capture Systems, Blueshift, Resolute Methane, Inc., and Prophet AI have all been named as awardees. Anvil is a carbon dioxide removal company focused on developing and scaling carbon mineralization using alkaline-bearing ores. It received $75,000 from the MassCEC to reportedly develop a technology that can permanently sequester carbon dioxide from the air.

BlueShift is an artificial intelligence think tank that uses AI to reduce mineral processing costs. The company received $75,000 to fund the optimization of domestic nickel extraction from industrial waste and start a domestic supply chain for nickel.

Resolute Methane works to fight climate change by tackling low-concentration methane emissions. Their $75,000 was given to fund cost-effective and energy-efficient treatment of methane emissions from industrial agriculture sources.

Prophet AI is an artificial intelligence system that oversees the agricultural industry. The company was granted $223,400 to execute and demonstrate its poultry welfare monitoring system that helps farmers reduce premature mortality of the animals.
