Somerville Caucus for Mass. Democratic Convention Slated for May 4
Any registered Democrat in Somerville can run for a spot on the 2015 delegation.

Ever wanted to attend the Massachusetts Democratic Convention? This could be your opportunity.
Early next month, Democrats in Somerville host a caucus to elect a delegation to the 2015 Massachusetts Democratic Convention.
More specifically, the event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on May 4 at Somerville High School, and is open to all registered Democrats in Somerville.

The delegation is slated for a 50/50 gender radio, and youth, minorities, and individuals with disabilities who don’t get voted in as delegates or alternates can apply for “add-on” delegate status.
The convention itself takes place Sept. 19 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.

“This convention will be unique, as we build on experiences from many competitive elections these past few years and look to strengthen the party for the future,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman, Senator Tom McGee, in a statement to the media.
“Caucuses are an important step in growing our party engagement at the local level.”
